Blues driver keeley mod settings

As and OD pedal, not so much. As an OD pedal, it has this nasty, grating quality. I set mine with the gain all the way down, and the level all the way up. JinX78 Member. I have the keeley bd2. Settings depend on what I'm playing but I find that turning the tone knob fully counter clockwise and adding to taste is important with this pedal. Other settings depend on what guitar I'm using but gain usually doesn't go beyond noon and volume is usually just beyond unity. Reacts wonderfully to guitar volume knob.

Great pedal! Tone at zero, gain at zero, volume to taste. MilwMark Member. In that variety, my magic settings are drive and level about , tone at noon. I like a stock BD-2 better than any other mod I've tried several and my change there is the tone In a band mix, the differences are indistinguishable. The stock does have a little more fizz than the Mason but the cymbals cover it up.

Great circuit. P Member. MilwMark said:. FoolOnThePlanet Member. I freakin' love the BD-2, it sounds great, and looks damn classy imo My setting has barely changed since I got the thing 5 or so years ago I think I got it straight out of the Boss manual, but it's been so versatile and useful. Volume at like oclock, tone around oclock, and gain around 1 o clock. Work that guitar volume knob and play! There was a difference, but not much.

At first, this seemed like a negative — a throw away feature kind of — but the more I messed around with the rest of the settings the more I started to understand and appreciate the subtleness. All in all, the Blues Driver Phat Mod is a very excellent pedal that is far more than just a simple upgrade over the original. With its very transparent frequency range, excellent picking dynamics and outstanding tube-like overdrive, the Blues Driver Phat Mod is definitely a pedal that every guitarist should check out.

You know this pedal is doing something right if The Edge and Brad Paisley swear by it! If you would like to check out the rest of our great selection of Keeley Electronic pedals including several of their original creations, simply hit the link and enjoy!

With the higher output pickups, the Super Phat Mod sounded wiry rather than weedy. The roar was intoxicating. And kinda British. The slightly anemic character of the Flat mode became the lean, compressed attack of a JCM but with a more powerful push that was HiWatt-y in its authority. Interestingly, this setting was equally fulfilling in both bridge and neck positions.

While the voicing itself manages the enviable trick of being both focused and powerful, the character of the overdrive is so lively and complex that it was genuinely thrilling to me—it popped out of my speakers and lingered in the room.
